Education for All TN Legislative Update Webinar

In Tennessee’s 114th General Assembly, lawmakers have introduced HB793/SB836 and HB1711/SB2108—bills that challenge long-standing constitutional protections guaranteeing all children access to free public education, regardless of immigration status. The U.S. Supreme Court affirmed this right in Plyler v. Doe, a precedent in place for more than 150 years. If advanced, these proposals could threaten K–12 access to public education in Tennessee and beyond.

Advocates warn that, despite claims the bills are “just tracking” or limited in scope, both measures raise serious concerns about constitutional protections and student privacy. The proposals are interconnected and could have far-reaching consequences for families and schools.

Join us on Monday, February 23, from 1:30–2:30 PM CT to hear from Education for All – Tennessee partners about the potential impact of these bills and how you can take action. Register here.
