Join LWV Oak Ridge as they host Jesse Mayshark, co-owner, editor, publisher of the Compass e-newspaper covering Knoxville politics and staff editor for the New York Times news service.

Analysis and recap of the redistricting process in Tennessee in 2021-22.  This will include examining both local and state procedures, quality and fairness of maps submitted/accepted, inclusion/exclusion of communities of interest, lessons learned, etc.

Relevance: Redistricting is a major initiative of the League of Women Voters of US with flow-down to all state Leagues.  Voting rights for every eligible voter is a constitutional right - not a privilege.
