LWV Northeast hosts "How does county government actually work?" with Tennessee County Services Association

Whether it’s county school funding, public safety, a controversial new land-use proposal, or deliberations on a vast array of issues affecting the public, the decisions made by your county government have a huge impact on our daily lives. Elected officials hold the responsibility for these decisions. Citizens can advocate and engage with these officials to try to shape the county we want.

David Connor, Executive Director of the TN County Services Association will join us to explore the structure and services of county government and identify how citizens can have an impact.  The program should help prepare you for voting in the upcoming May 5 Primaries and August 6 General Elections.  The program will include an informative presentation by Mr. Connor and a conversation moderated by Nathan Farnor about how county government in Tennessee works. Mr. Connor’s biography can be found HERE

Our meetings are open to anyone in the community. They are also live-streamed on our Facebook page and then posted on our YouTube channel. Please come and bring a friend! Light refreshments will be served.
