Did you ever want to know where the stuff you put in your recycling bins end up? Or what you really should or should not put in your recycling bin? Ever wonder how much stuff the average American puts in a landfill each year? Dr. Graham is a passionate expert on local recycling issues and the environmental impact of recycling. She will also bring us up to date on local actions as well as proposed state legislation to increase recycling and get the billions of dollars’ worth of cardboard, aluminum, and glass currently going into TN landfills to the TN companies that need those resources.

The Lunch with the League is scheduled for the first and third Tuesdays of each month from September through May. The League meets in the Social Room of the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church, located at 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike. Lunches may be purchased for a nominal fee beginning at 11:30 a.m. (eastern time) or attendees may bring their own lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided. The presentation by the speaker begins at 12:00 noon, followed by a question-and-answer session. Guests are welcome to attend these interesting and informative events. Members will be informed via email of any last-minute changes to the program.
