Join the LWV of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County for an informative presentation with the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC), a statewide, immigrant-led organization working to strengthen civic participation and advocacy.
This program will cover:
-Updates on Tennessee legislation affecting immigrant and refugee communities, including bills on local law enforcement cooperation with ICE, K-12 education access, documentation requirements for essential services, and voter registration verification
-Refugee resettlement and integration in Tennessee, including economic contributions, barriers to language access, and what's happening right here in Rutherford County
-How you can take action, from educating voters to engaging elected officials and supporting immigrant and refugee neighbors in our community
The evening will close with time for Q&A and open discussion.
Whether you're new to this issue or already engaged, this is a valuable opportunity to get informed and find out how to make a difference locally and statewide.
Free and open to the public. All are welcome. Please share!
